How do I pay for a ticket?

Open the event, tap Get tickets, pick your tickets and enter your name and M-Pesa number. A prompt pops up on your phone: enter your M-Pesa PIN to approve. Your QR ticket appears on screen a few seconds later. No account needed.

I didn't get the M-Pesa prompt

Check that the number is your Safaricom M-Pesa line (07… or 01…) and that your phone is on, unlocked and has signal. Close any open SIM toolkit menu, wait about 30 seconds, then tap Resend prompt on the payment screen. Make sure you have enough balance and haven't hit your daily M-Pesa limit. Your tickets are held for 10 minutes while you sort it out.

Where are my tickets?

Right after paying, your tickets open on screen; save the page or take a screenshot of the QR. Lost them? Go to My tickets and enter the phone number you paid with to get them back. If you were signed in when you bought, they're also saved to your account.

Can I transfer a ticket to a friend?

There's no transfer button yet. If you can't make it, you can send your friend the ticket QR. It checks in once, for whoever reaches the door first, so only share it with the person who's actually going. Some events check names, so ask the organising club first.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by the organising club under its own policy (it's usually in the event FAQ). Reach out to the club from its page with your order reference (SE-…). If an event is cancelled, the club will tell ticket holders how refunds work.

Can non-Strathmore guests attend?

It depends on the event. Each event page says whether it's open to everyone or Strathmore students only. Guests from outside should carry an ID; campus security may ask for it at the gate.

Can I buy tickets for my friends?

Yes. Pick more than one ticket in a single order (up to the event's limit). Each ticket gets its own QR, so you can send each friend theirs.

Is it safe to pay here?

The PIN prompt comes from M-Pesa itself, so we never see your PIN. Nobody from Strath Events or a club will ever call you to ask for it.

How do we register our club?

Create an account, set up your club profile (logo, colours, socials) and submit it. The Strath Events team reviews new clubs before their first event goes live. You can draft events while you wait.

Register your club
How do payouts work?

Students pay by M-Pesa to the platform and the money is settled to your club. Settlement details (timing, the receiving account and any fees) are agreed with Student Affairs before your first paid event.

How do volunteers scan tickets at the door?

Open the event in your dashboard and share the scanner link with its 6-digit PIN (there's a one-tap WhatsApp share). Volunteers need no account. Team members you add with the Scanner role can also sign in and scan.

A scanner phone got lost. Can we lock it out?

Yes. Generate a new scanner PIN for the event. Every phone that used the old PIN is locked out immediately; send the new PIN to the volunteers who still need it.

Can we run promo codes and see which group sells?

Yes. Create percent or fixed-amount promo codes with usage limits and expiry dates, and make a tracking link for each WhatsApp group or story so your dashboard shows where buyers came from.

Can we download the guest list?

Yes. Export a CSV of every ticket holder, ticket type and check-in time from the event dashboard, before or after the event.

The scanner camera won't start

Allow camera access when the browser asks (or tap the lock icon in the address bar and allow Camera). The scanner only works on the secure https link. While you sort it out, type the 8-character code under the QR, or use the Search tab.

A guest's phone died. How do I check them in?

Open the Search tab and search by their name, the last 4 digits of the M-Pesa number they paid with, or their order reference. Tap Check in next to the right ticket.

It says “Already checked in”. What now?

Amber means that ticket was used before; the screen shows when and at which gate. Ask the guest; it may be a shared screenshot. If a volunteer checked someone in by mistake, a club owner or admin can undo it from the Recent tab.

Still stuck?

Email us and a human will reply. For payment issues, include your order reference (SE-…) and the M-Pesa confirmation code so we can find it fast.
