Which clubs can host on Strath Events?
Any registered Strathmore club or society. Sign up, create your club profile and the Strath Events team checks it before your first event goes live. Verified clubs get a blue tick.
How do we get the ticket money?
Students pay by M-Pesa to the platform and the money is settled to your club. Settlement details (timing, the receiving account and any fees) are agreed with Student Affairs before your first paid event.
Can we run free events or RSVPs?
Yes. Free tickets work exactly like paid ones: guests still get a QR ticket, you still get a guest list, and the door scanner still stops gate-crashers.
Do students need an account to buy?
No. They enter their name and M-Pesa number, approve the prompt and get their ticket. They can find it again on the My tickets page with their phone number.
How does the door work?
From your dashboard, share the scanner link and its 6-digit PIN with your volunteers. They open it on their phones, scan each QR and see green, amber (already used, with the time and gate) or red. You can change the PIN anytime to lock old phones out.
Can non-Strathmore guests come?
You decide per event: open to everyone, or Strathmore students only. The rule is shown on the event page and ticket.
What if someone screenshots a ticket and shares it?
Each QR checks in once. The second scan shows “Already checked in at 19:42 by Gate A”, so the door team knows exactly what happened.
Who handles refunds?
The organising club sets its refund policy and handles refunds. Mention it in your event FAQ so buyers know before they pay.
